U.S. Serb gift to Royal mourners
The reburial of King Peter II Karageorgevich and other royals at Oplenac on Sunday, May 26, 2013 was a state occasion attended by both domestic dignitaries and international officials. In an appropriate initiative to leave a positive impression of the Serbian nation on foreign guests, the Royal Family requested 500 copies of the book Serbia: Faces & Places written by American Serbs Val Rajic and William Dorich who donated the books for the event. They were presented as a hostess gift to VIPs at the luncheon after Sunday's funeral services.
Nine donations were made
to contribute to the $2,800 in air freight:

His Royal Highness $1,500; Alex Machaskee $300; Vera Pirocanac $100; D. J. Vujasinovic & Adrian Hartog $100; Dushica & John Protic $100; Ken Pavichevich $100; Dijana & Mark Jovanovic $100; Dr. Biljana Simsic $100; and Mildred & Ron Radakovich $100 for a total of $2,500. The balance was paid by GM Books who donated 500 books at the current reduced retail price of $15.00 per book or $7,500.
