Searching for Information about Chetnik Vladimir Stošić, who joined the Chetnik movement in Belgrade in 1941.

Aleksandra's Note: I've received the following note from Jean-Baptiste and am hoping some of the readers of this post will be able to help him discover information about his grandfather, Chetnik Vladimir Stošić. The "searching journey" is one that many children and grandchildren and other descendants embark upon with varying degrees of success. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated!

Thank you,
Aleksandra

Dear Aleksandra,

By way of introduction my name is Jean- Baptiste and I am currently doing some Research on my grandfather, Vladimir Stošić, who joined the Chetnik movement in Belgrade in 1941.

I have found your blog as I was looking for information on the Youth Section 501 of the Royal Army in the Fatherland (as I know for a fact that he took part in this specific section), and found this article that you shared:

http://www.generalmihailovich.com/2014/01/cicin-stab-501-drazini-omladinci-koji.html

Can you please let me know whether you would have any information that is specific to the section 501 (how it started, what action they took in the resistance, where they fought, etc.) or if you could recommend any good books (preferably in English or French) that document what this section did and how it originated?

I have also found a picture of section 501 available here:

http://vidovdan.org/istorija/stroga-tajna-poznate-licnosti-iz-sfrj-koji-su-bili-u-cetnicima/?script=lat

-where my grandfather, Vladimir Stošić, can be seen (sitting in the middle in the front row, with the rifle between his legs) together with my great-uncle (Lazar Jovanović, standing in the third row, 5th from the left or the right, in the Chetnik cap), and was wondering if you had seen this picture before, and if you have any information on when and where it was taken?

I believe that famous Chetniks were on this picture as well (I think Milorad Draskovic and Aleksandar Nikolic are on the photo).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance,

Kind regards,
Jean-Baptiste

Please contact Jean-Baptiste at the e-mail address below if you can provide any information or assistance. Thank you!
