Floral tributes were offered at World War II memorials in Belgrade on Tuesday as the city remembered victims of Nazi bombings that began on April 6, 1941. State officials and ordinary people brought flowers to the Alley of Victims at the New Cemetery, to the Granite Cross outside the Church of the Ascension and to the former bomb-shelter. Between 2,000 and 4,000 civilians were killed during the air raids.
