Dear President Trump:
For so many of us Americans and other nationalities around the world, it is a glorious day today! If anyone had told me even a year ago that you would indeed become President of the United States, I would have thought "Yeah, right" or "Wishful thinking". But, wishes and dreams and hopes and prayers really do come true if it is the Will of God.
Now that you have been officially sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, I know you'll be anxious to get down to business. I am awed by your stamina and energy. You put many of us who are "younger" than you to shame. I know your stamina and energy will serve you well in the challenging days and months ahead.
As an American, I am very hopeful that you will fulfill your promise to "Make America Great Again". This country needs to return to itself - to get back to the things that made it great to begin with. Without God's blessing and good human leadership, it won't happen. I hope that with God's help and guidance you will indeed be the man to bring that goal to fruition. I believe that you sincerely and passionately love this country. And nothing is more important than that for her leader to have in his heart.
As an American of Serbian heritage, I'm hopeful that you will be very instrumental in repairing a very damaged relationship between America and the Serbian lands in the former Yugoslavia. Serbia has been a loyal ally of the United States for over 100 years, with exceptional service in World War One and World War Two. American foreign policy towards Serbia and the Serbian lands in the Balkans took a terrible turn at the beginning of the 1990s and the consequences have been tragic and unfortunate, both here in America and in the homeland.
I believe in you, Mr. President. I believe that you will heal and revitalize America and that you will repair the damage that was done to American-Serbian relations. It's wonderful to see so many Serbs here in America and in the homeland excited about your ascension in the political sphere and your victory in the Presidential election! That means we Serbs haven't given up hope in the U.S.A.!
President Trump, as you will become increasingly aware, you are no longer just a very successful businessman and media mogul. You are now leader of the Free World and hold its potentially most powerful office. My hope and prayer is that you will be a strong, wise, fair, gracious, and God-fearing leader...that your domestic policies will be fair, especially to the Silent Majority of citizens whose voice has been muzzled for far too long...that your foreign policy will be fair, too, and that the relationship with faithful and good American Allies such as the Serbs will be healed and nurtured. We are counting on you. We know you have huge responsibilities ahead. We wish you Godspeed in your first 100 days and beyond.
