His Royal Highness Prince Vladimir (son of Prince Andrej Karageorgevich) flies to Belgrade May 15, 2013.
Having been able to get hold of a ticket at the very last moment, Prince Vladimir has flown out to Belgrade this morning in the hope of arriving at the Nikola Tesla Airport in time to meet his late father's coffin. The rush of this trip was due to the very unfortunate fact that Prince Vladimir had not been told of the exhumation and return of his late father's remains until yesterday morning when a friend from Australia asked the Prince what was happening.
Prince Vladimir was the only child of [Prince] Andrej who was with him only hours before Prince Vladimir's father passed away. Prince Andrej and Princess Kira-Melita were divorced in 1973 and from this time until his visit to America in 1990, Prince Vladimir had only seen his father for one afternoon in 1982. From the 5th of May to the 7th of May 1990, father and son spent the majority of the time talking about the history of Yugoslavia and the Karadjordjevic family. Together with his siblings, Prince Vladimir buried his father at [New Gracanica Monastery in Illinois].
Prince Vladimir has always believed that Oplenac is the only final resting place for his late father but claims that now is not the time, whilst the people of Serbia are still having to endure so much suffering on all levels. "What has been done, has been done but I know that this was not the wish of my late father and I am very hurt and sorry for that," said Prince Vladimir.
NJKV Princ Vladimir dolazi u Beograd
Posto je uspeo da rezervise avionsku kartu u poslednjem trenutku, Princ Vladimir je jutros poleteo za Beograd u nadi da ce uspeti na vreme da sleti na aerodrom "Nikola Tesla" kako bi bio prisutan kada stigne kovceg sa posmrtnim ostacima njegovog oca.
Ovaj put je organizovan u zurbi posto princ Vladimir nije bio obavesten o ekshumaciji i povratku zemnih ostataka svog pokojnog oca sve do juce ujutru kada ga je pozvao prijatelj iz Australije i pitao ga sta se desava.
Princ Vladimir je jedino dete kraljevica Andreja koje je uz njega bilo u trenucima neposredno pre njegove smrti. Kraljevic Andrej i princeza Kira Melita razveli su se 1973.god. i od tada pa sve do odlaska princa Vladimira u Ameriku 1990. god., (kada je posetio svog oca), princ Vladimir je oca video svega jednom 1982.god. Od 5-7. maja 1990., otac i sin su proveli sate diskutujuci o istoriji Jugoslavije i o porodici Kradadjordjevic. Zajedno sa svojom bracom i sestrama, princ Vladimir je oca sahranio u Novoj Gracanici u drzavi Ilinoj.
Princ Vladimir je oduvek verovao da je Oplenac mesto gde treba da pociva njegov otac ali tvrdi da sada nije vreme za to, sada kada ljudi u Srbiji prolaze kroz razne nedace.
"Sta je ucinjeno, ucinjeno je, ali ja znam da to nije bila zelja mog pokojnog oca a ja se zbog svega toga osecam povredjeno i veoma mi je zao," kaze princ Vladimir.
