"This is a beautiful monument to those parishoners of St. Sava Church who had served in the US armed forces during the war.....The names in white at the top are of those who did not make it home. The Chetniks who came to the U.S. from their beloved homeland and joined our parish after the war are in our memories as well.....A touching and poignant reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom.....We salute them and God bless them....."

A special thanks to Nicky Jo and Melanie Sever for moving the monument to our new church. It was located at St. Sava's original location in Gary, IN.....the church burned down and we built this new church.....yet the monument stayed behind for so many years. It's nice that it was moved to the new church so that our parishoners and visitors can pay their respects..... I am amazed by all the names.....so many brave souls.....Then to imagine all of the Chetniks who came later.....We must never forget them....."
