Remembering the Serbian victims of the Allied bombing of Belgrade on Orthodox Easter April 16, 1944

Aleksandra's Note:

One of the great ironies of the WWII Anglo-American Allied bombing
of Belgrade which took place on Serbian Orthodox Easter,
April 16, 1944, on the premise of targeting an enemy
(Nazi) occupied land was that it was this same year, just a few
months later, that the forces of General Draza Mihailovich and his
Serbs began saving the lives of hundreds of American and Allied
airmen who had been shot down over Yugoslavia by the Germans.
Nothing has ever proven more to me the measure of the man that
General Mihailovich was than his capacity to do the right thing
no matter what.

The poster below pays tribute to the Serbian victims of that Easter
bombing and asks the simple one word question: Why?

Sincerely,

Aleksandra Rebic
