VIDEO / St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Libertyville, IL U.S.A. - A beautiful testament to the legacy of General Mihailovich and his Serbian freedom fighters, the Chetniks

Aleksandra's Note: Throughout the years since World War II, the Serbian freedom fighters, the Chetniks, have remained active in establishing and supporting many Serbian Orthodox Churches and Monasteries in the Diaspora. Their beloved Voyvoda Momchilo Djujich led many of the efforts. St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Libertyville, IL U.S.A. is one of these Christian sanctuaries in America and among the most beautiful. Each time I visit, I feel the same thing when I am on the grounds and inside - the very real presence of God.

This beautiful monastery also reflects the reverence with which General Draza Mihailovich is held, and his spirit is very evident here along with that of his departed commanders and freedom fighters.

My photos below reflect a peaceful, lovely spring day at St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville and were taken on April 1, 2012.

Sincerely,
